The Hole

Jan 13th, 2024

Physical labor is exhausting. Any work that requires you to be physically present, including high-paying hourly jobs is physical labor. If you cannot make money while resting you are doing physical labor.

If you have aspirations beyond trading your hours for money, you need to get out of the hole. This is a gradual process. If you did not grow up wealthy, win the lottery, or suddenly make life-changing money, there is no quick fix. Time is your ally and you must learn to utilize it. It gets better. It's possible.

The amount of $ you can make is dependent on the level of organization you enter at. The more responsibility you assume, the more you can charge for your time. As your finances grow, you can gain freedom by hiring people(or computer programs) to do time-consuming, tedious work. You may not make "more" money but you regain time. As your time increases, so does your freedom to experiment through trial & error, allowing you to learn at an accelerated pace. As you learn about the world, people, commerce, and wealth, your horizons broaden. A broader perspective means you can find new opportunities for wealth creation that didn't exist TO YOU before.

Progress is not linear. It may feel hopeless at times, but we're already scraping the bottom of the barrel. We know what it feels like to have nothing. If your potential upside for success is unlimited, we may as well thrash about and try new things. We all know what the result of doing what we have been doing is. You can make change.
